Santosh Mathilakath
President & Chief Executive Officer
Santosh Mathilakath is President & CEO of Modumetal Inc. Prior to joining Modumetal, Santosh led LoneStar Group as its CEO from 2014 to 2021. LoneStar Group is the leading global provider of critical bolting and sealing products to conventional and renewable energy, power generation and petrochemical markets. Immediately prior to joining LoneStar Group, Santosh held executive positions at National Oilwell Varco (NYSE: NOV), a Houston-based energy services firm. He has also held several engineering and operations roles at Federal Signal, Bristol Compressors and Delphi Automotive Systems earlier in his career.
Santosh served as a board director of the Energy Workforce and Technology Council (formerly the Petroleum Equipment & Services Association). Santosh is passionate about delivering extraordinary results by building world class teams. His 30-year career has included leadership roles in manufacturing, engineering, quality, operations, and supply chain management in automotive, general industrial and energy industries. He is a mechanical engineer with graduate training in material science, design, and manufacturing, and he earned an MBA from Rice University.
Jason Franklin
Vice President – Finance
Jason leads Finance and Accounting for the company, leveraging his financial and operational skillsets to drive continuous improvement and operational rigor throughout the organization. Jason’s diverse market and industry experience brings a unique perspective, enabling him to work with customers and suppliers to advance the adoption of Modumetal’s game-changing technology.
Prior to joining Modumetal, Jason was Director of Special Projects at Flagstone Foods where he focused on process and profitability improvements. Previously, Jason held finance roles of increasing responsibility at Amazon and General Electric.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University.
Steve Brust
Director – Manufacturing
Steve leads manufacturing for Modumetal, where he utilizes his passion for efficiency and continuous improvement to deliver for customers.
Prior to joining Modumetal, Steve was VP Operations for DoxSteel and was responsible for guiding the company transition from a fastener plating Research and Development company to a fastener manufacturing and distributor. He has worked at S&S Plating / Express Bolt & Gasket, Texthread, Sigma, and Lone Star Fasteners.
Steve has 30 years’ experience in fastener manufacturing, plating and distribution. He has led all facets of the business (e.g., manufacturing, supply chain, sales, ERP system selection and configuration, pricing, and market strategy). He was directly involved in a growing a startup fastener business from zero to over $20 million in sales.
Steve also has deep experience in product quality and creating a quality culture. He created a complete QMS system with QC procedures and manual. The team achieved ISO 9001 certification after just 90 days of operation.
Vikas Joshi
Director – Engineering and Quality
Vikas leads Quality and Engineering for Modumetal where he leverages his technical and process experience to ensure optimum efficiency and world-class quality.
Prior to joining Modumetal Vikas was engineering manager at Marsh Plating. Vikas has extensive experience in electroplating, process engineering, continuous improvement and ways to improve manufacturing efficiencies through a systems approach.
Vikas has a depth of knowledge and demonstrated results in process engineering with metal and surface finishing, product development in functional coatings, strategic planning, collaborative problem-solving, and leadership development for cross functional teams in manufacturing and R&D settings.
Vikas earned a PhD in Engineering Technology with concentration in smart coatings and material science.
Marie Li
Director – Research & Development
Marie leads Research and Development leveraging the team’s nanolamination expertise to develop the groundbreaking functional coatings which solve the world’s most difficult material performance challenges.
Marie has a passion for electrochemistry and its applications in energy, industrial construction, tooling, transportation, and other major industrial applications. She has strong R&D background and demonstrated technical leadership, science, and engineering team mentorship.
She has broad material design experience with focus on metals, alloys, and composites. She is highly skilled in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), modelling of electric fields, current distribution, and mass transport as well as structured process development and the scale-up of electrochemical applications. Marie was formally trained in process development and continuous improvement with six sigma and lean methodology, Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Marie holds a PhD in chemical and metallurgical engineering.

Dennis Creech
Executive Chairman
Dennis Creech is Modumetal’s Executive Chairman. He previously served as CEO after having initially joined the board in 2019. He is an accomplished and experienced executive with over 38 years of experience in Unconventional and Ultra Deepwater Oil and Gas E&P Operations with Shell, Aera Energy and Hess. Dennis brings particular strength in operations, global supply chain contractor management, SAP ERP systems, and lean deployment business improvement. Dennis has an abundance of international experience and a strong understanding of various markets throughout North America, Europe, Asia and West Africa.
Dennis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Old Dominion University and is a recognized Lean Deployment executive.
Alain Rothstein
Board of Directors
Alain leads Atlas Innovate’s direct venture investments. Prior to Atlas Innovate, Alain was an Operating Partner with Atlas Holdings, during which time he assisted with pre-investment due diligence and post-investment operations. In 2016, Alain served as Chief Restructuring Officer for the successful acquisition and turnaround by Atlas Holdings LLC of one of New York City’s largest building erectors.
Alain started his career as an analyst with Interlaken Capital, a middle-market private equity firm, and later was a Principal at Vicente Capital where he focused on venture capital investments and lower middle market buyouts.
His current and past board positions include CaseStack (acquired by Hub Group), Rayne Water (acquired by Advent), Bomoda (co-founder; acquired by Weber Shandwick), X2F and Modumetal. Alain graduated from the University of Pennsylvania
Drew Gardner
Board of Directors
Drew supports Atlas Innovate’s direct venture investments with research, analysis, financial modeling, and qualitative assessment. He supports Atlas Holdings LLC and its portfolio company executives with value creation initiatives.
Prior to joining Atlas Holdings LLC, Drew worked in the Tactical Opportunities Group at Blackstone. From 2014 to 2018, Drew was a member of GE’s leadership development programs where he supported GE’s Oil & Gas, Power Services, Gas Power Systems, Renewables, and Digital businesses in various roles. While at GE, he project-managed operational cash flow initiatives, supported post-acquisition financial integration, and led power project forecasting & reporting. In 2012, Drew co-founded Halo Energie, an independent power producer of utility-scale solar power in India. At Halo Energie, Drew led solar project investment underwriting and supported EPC & PPA negotiations for Halo’s power plant installations in Andhra Pradesh, India.
Drew graduated from the Schreyer Honors College at the Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Energy Engineering and a B.S. in Energy Business and Finance.
Rich Keller
Board of Directors
Rich is managing partner of Rotor Capital. He has nearly 30 years of experience as an active investor, advisor and director to public and private companies at all stages of development. Rich founded Angler Capital Partners in 2004 to focus on investing in smaller, growing companies. Before starting Angler, he was general partner of Sandler Capital Management, a New York based alternative investment firm.
Rich has extensive experience in sourcing, structuring, executing and managing private equity and venture capital investments across a broad array of industries. Before entering the private equity business, he was Vice President in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at Merrill Lynch & Co and began his professional career as a corporate attorney with Davis Polk & Wardell in New York.
Ed Lee
Board of Directors
Ed has over 20 years of experience as an investor and entrepreneur. He joined Angler Capital Partners in 2006, helping to source, execute and manage investments in both private and public companies. Prior to Angler, Ed worked as the CFO of ROKKAN, a New York City based marketing and advertising agency, now owned by Publicis.
Earlier in his career, Ed worked as an investment Associate at Himalaya Capital Partners’ value-oriented, long-short hedge fund and early-stage venture capital fund.
Throughout Ed’s career, he has advised management teams on strategy and financial discipline in a variety of sectors including alternative energy, technology, education, digital media, and manufacturing.
Tushar Porwal
Board of Directors
Tushar has 25 years of experience at GM as Director Of Manufacturing, Global Innovation Director, Manufacturing Strategy and Planning (NA, Asia, Africa, China).
He was assigned as Head of Manufacturing for Brightdrop (a GM Hands-off Subsidiary) that supplies battery-powered vans and offers fleet-management services. The automaker has been gearing up to produce its larger electric van, the EV600, with the first 500 slated to go to FedEx Corp. They also produce electric pallets for last mile delivery.
Throughout Tushar’s career, he has driven strategy and advised GM management teams on market and financial discipline.
Robert Workman
Board of Directors
Robert Workman joined PSS Industrial Group as the CEO and Director in March 2020.
Prior to his role at PSSI, he was President, CEO & Director of DistributionNOW from 2014 to 2019, a spinoff that he led of the Distribution Services business unit at National Oilwell Varco. Previously, Mr. Workman was Group President, Distribution & Transmission, at NOV, a company with whom he started as a warehouseman in 1990.
Throughout his career, Robert has led dozens of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, including well known distributors such as Wilson Supply and CE Franklin, based in Houston, Texas, USA and Calgary, Alberta, Canada, respectively.
Mr. Workman holds a M.B.A. from Rice University.
