Marcia Johnston, Strategic Advisor
Marcia previously served as the Chief of Staff for the Business Executives for National Security (BENS), a "do" tank organization located in Washington DC. Marcia is currently a partner at RDM Strategies, a strategic consulting firm, which she co-founded with General Richard Hearney. Marcia serves on Modumetal's Strategic Advisory Council, where she supports the development and practical implementation of the group's strategy recommendations.
General Richard Hearney, USMC (Ret.), Director and Strategic Advisor
General Hearney holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University and a Master of Arts degree from Pepperdine University. He is also a graduate of the Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island. He retired from military service as Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps. An aviator with three combat tours, General Hearney held command positions at the squadron, air group and air wing level. During Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, he served as Deputy Commander, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force. He also held numerous senior staff assignments, including Deputy Director for Operations, U.S. European Command and Deputy Chief of Staff for Requirements, Programs and Aviation, Headquarters Marine Corps. His personal decorations and medals include: the Defense Superior Service Medal; Legion of Merit with gold star; Distinguished Flying Cross; Bronze Star Medal with Combat "V," Purple Heart; Air Medal with Combat "V" and bronze numeral "30," and Navy Commendation Medal with Combat "V." He previously served as CEO of Business Executives for National Security (BENS). Prior to this, he was Vice President of the Military Aircraft and Missile Systems Group for the Boeing Company, and regional Vice President of Business Development - Western Europe for McDonnell Douglas. He is the Chair of Modumetal's Strategic Advisory Council. He also works directly with the Modumetal Team in program management and in the development of market strategy, especially in corrosion, thermal and structures applications of the technology.
Pete Higgins, Director and Strategic Advisor
Pete holds an MBA and an undergraduate degree in economics and history from Stanford University. Pete is a founding, managing partner at Second Avenue Partners. Prior to this, He spent 16 years at Microsoft Corporation, starting in 1983. Mr. Higgins was a member of the Office of the President, reporting to CEO Bill Gates. Pete was group vice president of the Interactive Media Group at Microsoft from 1996 to 1998. Pete serves on the board of directors of Bocada Inc., Insitu Group, and others. He is an executive advisor for the private equity firm Hellman Friedman, Housevalues, and is a strategic director of the venture capital group, Madrona Investments, LLC. Pete also serves on the Board of Trustees for Stanford University and Long Live the Kings. He is a past board member of the Washington Software Association and the Software Publishers Association. Pete serves on the Board of Modumetal and works directly with the Modumetal team on program management and strategy development, specifically in the corrosion resistant coatings area.
Eddie Lehner, Strategic Advisor
Eddie has a degree in accounting from the University of Cincinatti. He is the founder and Chief Executive of Greenseed Holdings, LLC, a capital restructuring and advisory firm. Eddie is the former CFO of SeverCorr LLC, which he helped to build and later sell to SeverStal. Prior to this, Eddie served as VP and GM of Birmingham Steel through its sale to Nucor. Eddie currently serves on the State Workforce Investment Board of Mississippi and is active in economic development initiatives in the Gulf South region and in MS in particular. Eddie is on Modumetal's Strategic Advisory Council and works with the team on scale up efforts, including the development of capital investment and manufacturing partnership strategies.
Christina Lomasney, Physicist, President and CEO (co-founder)
Christina has a BS in Physics from the University of Washington. She conducted her undergraduate research in the D.T. Schwartz Electrochemistry Group and later completed studies towards an MS in Physics. Christina previously worked at Boeing in a variety of capacities including as lead on programs related to advanced metals manufacturing in the Prototype Machining Center. Christina co-founded Isotron Corporation, a composite materials company, in 2001 and served as President/CEO through 2006. She took this company to profitability without outside investment and currently serves as its Chairman. Christina is President and CEO of Modumetal. She is also project manager, principle investigator and named inventor on projects and pending patents, especially in the structures and corrosion resistant coatings areas.
Lieutenant General Carol Mutter (USMC, ret.), Strategic Advisor
Lieutenant General Mutter has a BA in Mathematics from the University of Northern Colorado an MA in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, and both an MS and honorary Doctorate degrees from Salve Regina College in Newport, RI. She was the first woman in the United States Marine Corps to reach 3-star rank, and has broken through many boundaries for women in the armed services. Among her assignments in the USMC were Commander of the Marine Corps Systems Command and Deputy Chief of Staff for Manpower and Reserve Affairs at Headquarters Marine Corps in Washington DC. Lieutenant General Mutter's medals and decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation with bronze star, National Defense Service Medal with bronze star, and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with four bronze stars. Lieutenant General Mutter serves on the Board of Directors and on the Strategic Advisory Council of Modumetal.
